Crafting 101, Salvaging and The Picnic Collection - 10 Sept 2025
Your guide to Crafting, Salvaging and previews of the Picnic Collection!
đď¸ Hello, itâs Wednesday and Dinoâs here, back in your feed with another Devblog.
Weâve got a special sneak peek! The elders have spoken about old magic that once allowed the assembly of special items from gathered material, and Iâve got the first scoop.
Crafting is coming soon to the Imaginarium; and with it, a new way to shape your Roamstead piece-by-piece. And did I mention three brand new outdoor-themed sets coming soon?
Letâs get into it.
Coming Soon: Crafting!
Iâve been peeking around the Imaginarium, and the whispers are true: Crafting is coming! From now on, the materials youâve collected arenât just sitting in your Compendium, theyâre stepping stones to something new for your Roamstead.
How Crafting Works
Recipe Crafting: Choose from a catalogue of furniture to craft with. Pick a furniture recipe, gather the necessary materials, then craft and watch the magic unfold!
Discovery: Place up to 3 materials and see what happens. If the combination is right, youâll uncover a hidden recipe and keep it for good. A little trial, a little error, and a lot of surprise.
Templates: These are special items used to craft certain higher-rarity furniture. Each Template is consumed when you craft, so use them wisely!
Your Guide to Crafting
STEP 1: Start Crafting
STEP 2: Choose Your Method
With Recipe Crafting, youâll see exactly which materials are required for a piece of furniture and can craft it directly. In Discovery, you can slot up to 3 materials to experiment. A successful attempt unlocks the recipe permanently.
STEP 3: Use Templates for Rare Items
Some higher-rarity furniture requires a âTemplateâ, a special blueprint-like item found throughout Trailbound. When used in crafting the associated furniture, âTemplatesâ are consumed, so be sure to use them wisely.
STEP 4: Check Requirements
Make sure youâve slotted in the exact materials and correct quantities. If youâre close but missing a piece, the crafting slots will be highlighted to let you know whatâs still needed.
STEP 5: Craft & Gain Rewards
Hit the Craft button once everything is in place. Youâll receive the finished furniture, and if itâs a first-time discovery, the recipe will also unlock for future use!
Crafting is a way to shape the world around you. Itâs not just about the final furniture you get! Instead, Crafting is a unique way to discover, experiment, and build your ever-growing Roamstead collection. Get ready to experience Trailboundâs next major update! Mix, match and put that magic hammer to good use~
Turn Items Into Gold with Salvaging!
Tired of having 50 Studio Beds lying around your inventory, or maybe itching to give your roamstead a glow-up with crafting, but lacking the materials? Coming together with the Crafting update, you can finally turn spare furniture into useful materials, or break them down into shiny gold to fuel your next big crafting spree.
What is Salvaging, you may ask? Salvaging is a brand-new feature that allows you to turn your furniture into materials, giving you a portion of the material back in return.
Have more Flax or Oak than you could need? You can turn these excess materials into gold by salvaging them. The rarer the material, the more gold you can acquire!
STEP 1: Inventory Changes
Head over to the Inventory tab in your Trailbound activity and check out the brand-new Salvage button. Tap it to swap from inspecting to salvaging mode, pick the furniture or materials youâre ready to break down, and hit the Proceed button.
STEP 2: Confirming your Salvage
When you open the Salvaging menu, youâll see exactly what you can get from breaking items down, and you can even readjust the quantity you want to salvage before hitting go. Once confirmed, the rewards drop straight into your inventory.
For now, salvaging produces the following:
Furniture: Breaks down into Materials
Materials: Break down into gold
STEP 3: Salvage & Gain Rewards
Once confirmed, all items will be salvaged and you will find a summary of all the items you have salvaged, as well as the associated items that you earn!
Itâs Time to Step Out of Your Roamstead!
âŚbecause sometimes we all need to touch grass. As both a reporter and a half-dino who canât sit still, Iâve always loved being outdoors. Many of the items youâll see here came from suggestions by Trailmates themselves, helping shape the designs of some of these sets Iâm showing today.
Now, you wonât need to wander far; with new sets coming soon, you can decorate your dream outdoor space straight outside your Roamstead. Come along, Iâll show you around!
Woodland Picnic Set
Coming to the crafting update, create your perfect camping getaway with the Woodland Picnic Set!
With a total of 10 unique furnishings to craft with, you can pitch a tent, arrange your camping essentials, and create a space built for pure relaxation.
